Waltonchain’s bounty program is met with criticism by the crypto community

The team behind this blockchain project wants you to choose its whitepaper

Users and the crypto community in general were disappointed on Waltonchain’s approach to its own whitepaper, following the announcement of a community bounty program to let people choose from several reviews of the document’s various topics, in an attempt to shed some light on it and make it more understandable.

The challenge

According to a Medium post by the startup, the competition is to help clarify the content in its recently-released Whitepaper 2.0. Participants will be tasked to write a review on specific topics such as Smart Contract Library, WPoC, POL, Chain Cluster, among others. People will be able to vote for their favorite review by liking and retweeting them, thus he who gets more for his review, wins the prize – 88 WTC or US $ 288 at press time.

It can be a review, interpretation or industry solution, but whatever the style, it must have a minimum of 300 words. Aditionally, participants can tweet an info-graphic of 1500 x 1000 pixels in their respective Twitter account.

The reception

Upon announcing the bounty program, people began to criticize it, and the Waltonchain team, for their poor approach to its own Whitepaper, questioning the success of this project.

“Waltonchain is my favorite project in the space. However, the team has recently released Whitepaper 2.0 and it has received a lot of criticism from this community and other crypto communities because it was kind of vague. To be honest this leaves me bothered and worried. I can't really understand how such a big project like Waltonchain could drop such a low quality Whitepaper,” says a Reddit user.

Another user commented: “This whole constest makes no sense at all. How do they expect us to review POL when they haven't even explained how it works or their Smart Contract Library when it's not open-sourced. It seems like the marketing people took a ridiculous initiative here.”

At the time of writing, no Waltonchain representative has commented on this feedback.
