Tron (TRX) launches its developer tool suite

Four set of tools to help developers build dapps for the Tron Ecosystem

Recently, Tokentops announced the roll-out of version 3.1 of Tron’s mainnet (named Odissey 3.1), which includes a Virtual Machine (TVM) that enables developers to create and test smart contracts and decentralized applications (dapps) in a testing environment, before sending them to the mainnet. But the Tron Foundation is not done yet and today, via a Medium post, they have announced the release of a toolset to facilitate developers their work in this network.

“The team has been working diligently to create the necessary tools for developers to use,” the post reads. “This toolset includes the TronGrid, TronBox, TronStudio, and TronWeb. These tools are aimed to help developers integrate innovative DApps into the TRON ecosystem with ease.”

As stated above, four tools were recently released. The first one is TronGrid, an infrastructure that enables developers to create and release smart contracts and dapps on the Tron Network, without having to run a full node. It is similar to how Infura works for Ethereum.

The second tool released is TronWeb, which serves as a link between the developers and the blockchain. It was inspired by the infrastructure of Ethereum’s Web3 environment, but with a different employment method. In order to work, a Full Node and a Solidity Node running on the HTTP API will be necessary. Additionally, the tool allows developers to send, purchase, freeze and unfreeze TRX and TRX-based tokens.

The third tool released is TronBox, a framework that makes use of the aforementioned tool’s API for testing and deploying smart contracts on the Tron Network.

Finally, the fourth tool – TronStudio – is a complete Integrated Development Environment (IDE) that comes with an embedded TVM and an internal full node for creating a private local environment in which to test smart contracts and dapps before they can be deployed to the mainnet. As stated by the post, its defining feature is enabling the developer to interact with their smart contracts “within a user-friendly environment”.

The post ends by stating that new tools and updates will be coming for the community, inviting anyone who wishes to clarify any doubt or has any question to join their Discord Group for developers.
