Stellar (XLM) partners with Pioneer app on its project to support creative outsiders
A prize of $6000 in XLM will be granted to the winners of the tournament
The Stellar Development foundation has reportedly joined efforts with startup for productivity Pioneer.app, for encouraging and supporting the development of groundbreaking ideas from the so-called “creative outsiders”.
According to the announcement, the foundation is allocating $6,000 in XLM to the winners of Pioneer’s second tournament, a monthly competition that aims to gather as many “Lost Einsteins” as possible, to participate in an online game where they can have the opportunity to propose ideas and work on them.
“As we grow, a surprising challenge we face is getting money to our Pioneers. Turns out sending small amounts of money around the world is hard. Which is why we're really excited about our new partnership with Stellar,” the startup said, adding that winners of the tournament will get their prize in cryptocurrencies faster than receiving it in dollars.
“We're excited to support Pioneer in their mission of helping advance groundbreaking ideas from the creative outsiders of the world,” reads a tweet by the Stellar Foundation.
While part of the prize to be awarded in the aforementioned cryptocurrency, Pioneer stresses that of the $6,000 in lumens, only 1,000 will be fully unlocked, while the remaining $5,000 will be locked up for the next two years.
Nevertheless, the prize is not limited to what the foundation is funding, for Pioneer will award $5,000 in USD, with the possibility of a $100,000 follow-on.
Pioneer is a startup launched in August this year, by Israeli entrepreneur Daniel Gross, who wished to provide a common place for the creative outsiders to present their ideas and develop them. Referred to as an ‘experiment in building an online game”, his project eyes for an interactive, creative way of encouraging hidden talent to rise and shine, by using a public ranking system so participants and the public can see the progress made by the formers.
With a first tournament successfully carried out last month, Pioneer attempts to maintain a busy agenda of one competition per month, so to keep the inflow of fresh ideas and to give people the opportunity of having their projects voted for winning the grand prize.
