Decred (DCR) added to Atomic wallet
Now users will be able to send and receive DCR within their wallet
Multi-cryptocurrency wallet Atomic has recently announced it has added Decred (DCR) to its more than 300 supported cryptocurrencies and ERC-20 Tokens. The announcement was made via Atomic’s official Twitter account.
“Warm welcome @decredproject in the multi-asset @atomicwallet! #Decred is the self governance blockchain and pioneer in #AtomicSwaps. Manage and exchange $DCR in our handy secure interface,” reads the tweet.
The team behind the so-called “digital currency for the people” was pleased with the announcement. “Atomic swaps and #Decred go together like pineapple and jalapeño peppers on pizza, so we're happy to be included in the new release of @atomicwallet,” they said via their Twitter account.
On the supported assets section of Atomic’s website, it is stated that Decred is available not only for sending and receiving, but also for being exchanged with other cryptocurrencies, thanks to the integration of crypto-exchanges Shapeshift and Changelly within the wallet.
Atomic swaps, on the contrary, are currently unavailable in this wallet, but it should not be for so long, as it has been recently reported that Decred has added Atomic Swap support for its token, and as of right now, it is exchangeable with Bitcoin and Litecoin, via text-based tools developed by the Decred team – however, a future Decrediton release will see these tools integrated within its GUI.
