Dash Is Able To Support Over 3 Million Transactions - Dash News

Dash is able to support over 3 million transactions

A live stress-test confirmed it

History has been made by the blockchain payment protocol Dash, which has set a new All Time high in regards to daily transactions. The Bitcoin-based distributed ledger platform has just set a new record for transactions confirmed over the course of 24 hours, which is relevant for blockchain technologies that are based on Bitcoin.

“#Dash community we did it! The stress-test is now over. It was a huge success & we managed over 3 million @Dashpay transactions in 24 hours! That's a new ATH record for a #Bitcoin based #Blockchain!” joyfully commented Mark Mason, head of Media and PR for Dash-focused news blog Dash Force News.

Stress-test result: Success

An earlier tweet by Mason invited crypto enthusiasts to follow live the stress-test that took place last Sunday, by accessing to stresstest.mydashwallet.org. This site is a transaction visualizer that allows people to keep track of the number of transactions being processed at the moment, in both Bitcoin (BTC) and Dash, in a very intuitive and fun way – by using a highway where different vehicles (from motorcycles to trucks, and even jets) represents individual transactions being confirmed in each blockchain.

Then, another tweet stated that the limitations of Dash on block size (currently 2MB) would prevent the so-called “digital cash” from hitting 4 or 5 million transactions, but that there was many chances to reach over 3 million, which is still huge – to put in perspective, Bitcoin Cash’s latest stress-test managed to reach 2.1 million in the same time span, on September 1, 2018.

As a result, Dash has crowned itself as the Bitcoin-based blockchain protocol with the largest capacity for processing transactions over the course of 24 hours. Mason allowed himself to brag a bit about how they have proven wrong those who claimed that on-chain scaling was impossible, but he noted that asides from that, the data of this test will help developers to identify any possible issue that needs correction or improvement.

It is worth noting that this test was run over Dash protocol 0.12.3. During the running of this, the latest version (0.13.0) of this client was released to the Testnet, and at press time, the Tx viewer for dash states that a new stress-test will be conducted on December, 2018.
