Brazilian fintech companies will be using ETC for shareholder voting

They will use OriginalMy platform to that end

A conglomerate of more than 400 companies, all of them members of the Brazilian Fintech Association, will begin using OriginalMy platform on Ethereum Classic to carry out shareholder voting. This will become the first time they will use blockchain for the board election.

During the Ethereum Classic Summit 2018 held at JW Marriot in Dongdaemun Seoul, CEO and Founder of the Brazilian blockchain-based authenticity platform OriginalMy, Edilson Osório Jr., announced that the aforementioned association has decided to use Osorio’s company to sign all the votes and authenticate them on the Ethereum Classic Network.

“Next month, the Brazilian Fintechs Association will vote, for the first time for the board election, using our platform, for signing the votes. It’s a huge step for us – Fintechs voting on blockchain. There is more than 400 fintechs in Brazil, and they will use our platform for voting,” he said.

When asked why he think his platform was chosen for the voting, he answered:

“For voting today, they need to sign all votes, recognize and get a stamp of the signature on a notary. And we have many states, and each state has a different table of costs. It’s a very expensive model, the traditional one. They couldn’t change to an electronical model because of their inability to identify who is voting. Their lawyers allowed the process to be carried on our platform because we can identify who is the signatory of the vote. It is cheaper and more reliable.”

Osorio also took the opportunity to invite the public to take part on his bounty program, #HackTheNotaries. Via a new platform called Anti-Bureaucracy Coin (ABC), which will have a token of its own called the ABC, Osorio expects to gather all initiatives in one single place that can help them to “hack” the notaries and improve them, by using the blockchain technology and thus, significantly reducing the bureaucracy around the world.
