Brendan Blumer, Block.one CEO Sends A Heartening Message About EOS
It is almost unbelievable that EOS was launched just five months ago. Over the recent months, the project has received immense success and every day it keeps looking stronger. Today, On the first day of October, Brendan Blumer, CEO of Block.one looked back to the beginning of the project and the success it has had over the recent months. In a post “EOS Public Blockchain Governance” the CEO looked back at the beginning, the progression, the challenges and what to look forward to.
Block.one is the parent company of EOS which was initially launched in January 2018. The project currently boasts of the largest ICO, which after months amounted to $4 billion. Recently in an interview with Bloomberg, the CEO disclosed that much of these funds will be used for the development of the ecosystem saying that already $1 billion has been shared with EOS VC.
In his statement on the EOS project, the CEO began by recognizing the results the new form of consensus has achieved. “The EOS consensus aligns token holders with block producers by incorporating the community into the selection of individuals running and governing the network.”
He, however, acknowledged that there were unverified claims of irregular block producer voting. In regards to this, the CEO assured users that the team was looking to ensure that election processes within EOS were free and democratic. He also added that the EOS team was continuing to improve the EOSIO open source code and they remain optimistic over the future of EOS.
Signs Of Trouble In Block.one
This statement comes days after it was reported that four employees and two contractors resigned from Block.one. All four employees held technical roles in the startup and in the EOS project. One of the employees noted that they left because they saw a need in the blockchain marketplace that Block.one was not going to address. Whether the resignation of the four employees will affect the operation of the startup or the EOS project is still unclear and the company is yet to comment on the issue.
