A group of enthusiasts raises awareness about IOTA in Argentina
The project is currently being conducted at south of the country
Members of IOTA Hispano – an IOTA-focused news blog for the Hispanic community – have taken the mission of spreading the word about IOTA to all communities in Argentina, starting in Patagonia, a region located to the south of Argentina.
Tangle Patagonia is the project led by Content Coordinator and Writer for IOTA Hispano Gabriela Jara, in collaboration with fellow crypto enthusiast Sol Hilgemberg. Their objective is to host meetups and workshops across all regions of the Latin American country to teach people about the ledger, the startup’s goals, development, characteristics and such.
As Jara comments on the article she wrote about it, she sought to promote IOTA in her country, and especially, in her region, after discovering the mission of the IOTA Foundation, and later joining the IOTA Evangelist Network.
“I met (and keep doing it) all this wonderful people around the world working with the same goal: to promote IOTA through different areas and supporting each other. Being part of all this and specially of IOTA Hispano made me raise awareness about the importance of making IOTA known to all people in Argentina, especially those in my region. That’s why I founded Tangle Patagonia,” she said.
In the first meetup she attended as the Tangle Patagonia project, Jara had the chance to share mic with co-founder of IOTA and writer of IOTA whitepaper, Professor Serguei Popov, at the first IOTA Meetup held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on July this year.
The second meetup was in Bariloche, on the 23th of August. Per the article, more than 30 attendees enjoyed the event that was organized with the support of Fab Lab, a governmental program to encourage the promotion and development of innovative tech projects. She explained that since then, many people have reached them to learn more about the blockchain startup.
Words of the project reached to the IOTA Foundation, which – as per Jara – have been very supportive of the initiative, to the point that it will be present at the ExpoEmprender organized by the Municipality of Caleta Olivia, in Santa Cruz province. Jara believes this is a great opportunity to introduce IOTA to the community thanks to the great flux of visitors these kind of events usually have.
“The IOTA Foundation appreciates your devotion! The developments in Argentina that you guys are responsibly for is terrific,” read a tweet from IOTA Foundation, in response to Jara thanking them.
